Start of 2013 season

Lads and parents,

Note-some links have shown up that I do not know how to delete.

As you are aware, the 2013 season practices has started up at Pendergast Athletic Fields in Bremerton.  We will be having practices three nights a week (Tues/Wed/Thurs- 4:15-6:15).

The interim Capt will be Brandon Girkin.

Uniform for practice- fitted mouthpiece, sweat pants, rugby shorts, heavy weight long sleeved shirt, sweat shirt, running shoes, and boots/cleats. Additionally if the weather demands it- raincoat, gloves, and watch caps (beanie).  Be prepared to run.

Bring signed code of conduct and parental permission forms (downloadable from the facebook group page, see links to the right) at practice.

Ms Lines will be the Team Manager this year (marjielines@hotmail.com).  Ms Crumb is now the Treasurer of the Club (Olympic Peninsula Sports Union)

I would like all the players registered with Rugby Washington as soon as possible online ($75 or $65 depending on age).  This is very important for the players who are wrestling since we may not see them until early February.    Ms Lines can help with registration.  It is the same process that was used for summer sevens.

I need fifteen players registered as soon as possible to confirm that we will have a team this year.

Communications will be important.  Being the old fart that I am, I prefer email.  I am not good at texting.   My primary official form of communication be email (or phone as required), while Ms Lines and Coach Lines primary form of communication will to be texting.

We will also make announcements online via our facebook team page (https://www.facebook.com/#!/KitsapBoysRugby ) which is used primarily to promote our local program team to the world.  We will also use the team focused facebook group page
(https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/Kitsap.HS.Rugby/) that also has all the documents (forms, schedules, quizzes, etc) for download.

All players and parents who participate in facebook should be signed up for both facebook pages.

I hope our rugby community had a great Christmas and New Year and I look forward to the upcoming season.

Coach Shephard
